About the Series

King of Wolves is at its very heart a romance, yet it has its roots set firmly in the genre of dark fantasy, with a sprinkling of sci-fi.
The series follows the path of Sulien, from his coming into power as a Vampire king, and on through his feud with his brother, Sandulf. Sulien's hatred of the Fae, a noble race equated with both light-born elves and angelic beings, and his relationship with them, particularly his dealings with Uriel, Lucifer, and Michael is a thread which runs through each of the books in the series. Sulien's story is one of obsession and greed, as he pursues the Wolf-Kin/Vampire hybrid, Selene,  and later her granddaughter Citala, with the same obsessive tenacity.
Sulien may be the personality that links all five books together, but he is not the hero of this story.  Sulien is overshadowed by his brother Sandulf, who threatens to take from him the beautiful Selene in Wolf Song, by Selene's daughter Rieka, and the first-born Fae Uriel, in Blood of the Wolf; then by Rieka's daughter Citala, and her best friend Andras, in the Wolves of War, The Reaper of the Wolves, and The Raven Wolf.
The series begins on Arania, a world where its people have chosen to embrace the path of nature and magic rather than take the path of technology. It is a land steeped in lore, and magic, of tales whispered through time until they spawned their own myths, and of powerful forces wielded by ancient gods.
The second book finds the Aranian-born, Sandulf and Selene, on Earth in the modern world with their two children, where they learn not only of the connection of Arania to Earth, but also how Fae souls can be reborn or remade. As their daughter Rieka finds herself in greater and greater peril, she will learn that those same souls can ascend and remember past lives.
The next three books in the series focus upon Andras, a genetically-modified addict on the cusp of adulthood, with the soul of a god, Citala, daughter of Rieka and Uriel, and their uneasy relationship with Sulien. A deadly game begins to be played out between Andras and Sulien, and Citala finds herself caught between the two men, when she becomes the prize they are fighting for.
Wolves of War  begins on Earth, and ends with a war on Arania. Reaper of the Wolves continues the story of our heroes, anti-hero and villans, as they search for and find Eden, then find their way to a third world, Empyrea, homeworld of the Fae.
The Raven Wolf, continues the war between the Vampires and the Fae, beginning with an uneasy truce, and ending with a war on Empyrea, which decides the fate of the three worlds. For Andras, it is a tale of painful self-discovery as he comes into his own, and for Sulien, it is a story wrought first with greed and revenge, then self-reflection and a final chance at redemption.
This a story aimed at young adults, upwards, with its overarching themes of love and hate, sexual obsession, redemption, forgiveness, murder, and revenge.
The books deal with many adult issues, but are not overtly sexually explicit. Eve so, the books bear a rating of 18 plus. I expect parents to use their own judgment on whether their teenager should read them.
