It has been over sixty years since her parents fell through the rift and managed to escape from Sulien, then find the witches and each other. Yet the wolf-kin family, including the Wolf King's own son; Rieka's brother, Lupin, live in constant fear of being discovered by him. When Rieka wins a photography competition and earns herself a visit to a castle in Germany, she is thrilled. Although Sandulf and Selene don't want her to go, they know that wouldn't be able to stop her if they tried. They settle for asking Selene's friend Julien to chaperone, but when she meets the castle's handsome and mysterious stand-in host, Uriel, Rieka soon learns that nothing and nobody at the castle as it seems, least of all Uriel himself. She finds herself falling for Uriel's charms, but not even true love can save her from what is about to happen.
What happens next is a terrifying journey of anguish and self-discovery as she learns that the castle is not only owned by the Wolf King himself but that he will stop at nothing to reclaim his lost wife and son. When Sulien gives Rieka to his charismatic but dangerous colleague Anthony, she must not only learn to deal with the trauma caused by his abuse but face the fact that her parents and brother are on their way to the castle. Uriel is the only one who seems to know exactly what is going on, including the true identity of the most powerful people at the castle. He also knows how to stop him, but even as they plan their attack, a new threat is brewing that will shake the very foundations of her life and leave it changed forever.
